Prof. Amano has enjoyed himself interacting with faculty and students, learning more about Cornell and the neighborhood.
He delivered a MSE Seminar and IEEE EDS Seminar.
Also, he enjoyed the sakura on campus (mid to late April in Ithaca), the award-winning dining halls, the decadal review of MSE with the external review panel (celebrating the 60th anniversary this year too), graduate students sharing their time at the Capitol Hill working with the federal legislators, undergraduate student-led campus tour, pet therapy, the famous Lab of Ornithology (all about birds) on campus, one of the Cornell Incubators Praxis, startups and Tech Park, the Farmer’s Market, annual Duck Race, shuffle board and local brewing (Personal Best) in town, Taughannock Falls, Niagara Falls etc. Some of his favorite dishes include the blackened fish at Creola, tofu banh mi of the Cafe Jennie at the Cornell Store.
His 2024 colloquium at Cornell co-hosted by KIC and ECE can be found here.
in 2025, Cornell Engineering is also celebrating 140 years of women in engineering.
